China aggressive foreign policy
In the last few years, world has seen the aggressive policy and diplomacy of China. China has presented the world with aggressive economic and military policies not only in land but also in space and water bodies.
Though the use of military power in Asia trying to prove the supremacy and use of back channel diplomacy and economic acts beyond Asia to showcase the rising power.
From Artic Ocean to Indian Ocean and Pacific, mark of presence can be clearly seen. Talking about landmass from Africa to many small islands, China holds grip among most. Thus challenging the west.
Why is China getting more involved ?
Ideologically China communist behaviour as a challange to liberal west.
Some experts suggest that the aggressive behaviour is due to socioeconomic and political crisis which the nation has seen in past and in order to overcome that humiliation, the nation is behaving like wounded tiger.
China had old pragmatic policies which shaped and strengthen the nations military and economic stand in the world order.
During 1949, Chinese Revolution saw that nation was extremely poor and backward which couldn't hold ideological supremacy with liberal nations of west.
It is also said by many that Mao's policy which misguided the nation and led to internal distrubance within is one among cause of delay in portrait of power.
After war with USSR, China understood that only ideological similarities won't be enough to stand in world order.
After analysing all factors of failure, Deng Xiaoping derived smart foreign policy which focused on developing it's economy, polity and society. This policy also defined that China should stay away from cold war among powers.
We can say that, this policy was well calculated as any and every nation needs to be internally strong before having aggressive foreign policy. Such similar examples can been seen from USA and USSR.
After independence, USA tried to boost it's domestic situation for years. Hence, it didn't participate aggressively in world war.
Similar goes with USSR, which strengthening the domestic environment, USSR remained aloof from WWII for first few years.
China slowly developed it's military infrastructure at disputed areas like Indian Ocean, South China sea, India China borders. It also slowly intregarated it's strategy using treaties, secret pacts and debt trap policy to mark it's presence all over.
Some experts consider that China is trying for revisionist power to establish a new world order and over throw the present one.
The same was seen incase of Germany which has the ambition to prove supremacy through WW I, few leaders becomes more aggressive with policies when their strength starts declining.
In 1871, the unification and rise of Germany was similar to rise of China in 1976. Germany was trying to challange British supremacy in every field. Till 1900, Germany became over ambitious and tried to be assertive about its hegemony.
Britain, France and Russia entered "Triple Entente" to counter Germany. Triple power tried to give competition to Germany in field of economy and hard power.
Due to ongoing autocratic internal disturbance and rising external pressure, Germany behaved like and wounded tiger and gave rise to World War.
Today China is seeing an decline in power due to resource scarcity and increasing dependent on import of food and energy.
Even many experts believe that economic growth has become costly. At present, the growth of demographic dividend will also see a decline by 2040-50, which will also have an impact on economic growth.
In the year 2007, China was having a growth rate of 14% but at present only 2% growth can be seen. Even the debt has increased many folds as compared to 2007-08.
We can say that due to internal rule, slow economy and hunger to rise in power can be drawbacks for China. When the world is already discussing the policies of China due to it's over ambitious nature of trade war, debt trap, disregard to international laws, back channel funding, etc.
