Reasons for Third Wave

3. Markets and Social activities are in full swing without caring about spread of virus.
4. Overcrowded public places and transportation channels.
5. Arrival of new variant OMICRON which is more deadly than previous delta variant.
6. Many more reasons also running at your mind, may be cause of third wave.
OMICRON a new variant in Europe and Africa
Reality check
Presently, in India vaccination is going at full pace and nearly 85% of adults have been given first dose and more than 40% have been given both doses of vaccine.
Vaccination drive is going on as scheduled by concern state and central government in smooth manner.
Looking at present, cases of covid19 are also recorded low on daily basis and death rate due to covid19 has also been low. But the devastation caused due to covid19 in April to July 2020 should not be forgotten. Neither the Second wave effect which made us a prisoner at homes for months.
New variant B.1.1529 of covid19 virus also called as OMICRON has already seen serious mutation for 30 times and more than 10 times spike protein mutation which has high transmission potentiality and is very risky as stated by WHO, may be a cause of high concern for India.
Is India Prepared ?
Nations like Europe, USA, China, Africa, UK have already started seeing the impact of third wave and it's devastation.
India saw its medical and health care system at worst during first and second covid19 waves. It was widely seen all over the nation about infrastructure failure of health care sector both including government and private domain. Lack of beds, oxygen, medical supplies, etc were really hampering the public and even administration.
Even the worst was seen with medical insurance sector which was being neglected from many years. Things collapse during pandemic. People were left with no options to either borrow or sell assets at low cost to save lives of dear ones.
Mid of 2021 saw the government package to strengthen the health infrastructure; which was very low to manage such a massive health care of huge population like India.
It was anticipated that third wave of covid19 would hit India by October 2021. But due to proper regulations and people precautions, the third wave was avoided.
But in the meantime, many states saw that dengue cases were rising and health system was not fully equipped to tackle it.
Steps for India
1. Experts impartial committee should be setup to access the response to pandemic.
2. Health infrastructure to be strengthened by joint efforts of central and state governments.
3. Proper communication channels should be bought to place, to avoid panic and miscommunication.
4. Health care vacancies should be properly channelised
5. Pharma industry should be given more boost by government to increase R&D and production.
India can possibly avoid the third wave of covid19 with necessary steps and people's participation with guidelines prescribed by government. Even government can be proactive in approach to tackle the upcoming situation.
Kindly leave your suggestions and feedback on steps to avoid third wave of covid19.
