Covid19 Third wave at peak
In India, the covid19 new variant
named as OMICRON has bought a wave of rising cases. The variant was found in S.
Africa in the month of December 2021 has the capabilities of rapid spread and
faster pace of infecting masses.
Although the death rate and
mortalities were not seen in at higher rate in comparison to earlier waves. But
the OMICRON variant was seen to be rapidly spreading its spikes across all
states & union territories.
The rise in cases were seen from
first week of January, 2022 (02/01/2022) and crossed the one lakh cases mark in
one week (09/01/2022), two lakh cases mark in just 3-4 days (12-13/01/2022).
By 20th January 2022,
the cases rose to 3 Lakh across India, but a stabilization was seen then after.
Every day around 3 Lakh to 3.20 Lakh
cases were recorded as per data projected from various media houses.
As per the data projected in
Second wave, the peak was achieved at 4.14 Lakh cases per day. And many experts
were assuming that third wave will mark its peak at 8-10 Lakh cases.
Even while comparing India with
other nations, its found that cases patten and peak prediction differs a lot,
while many other nations are severely affected from the third wave of Covid19;
even it is seen that 2-3 times higher cases than previous peak. But India managed
to limit the virus spread.
With test numbers remaining same
from past two weeks; average 17-18 Lakh samples being tested every day; the positivity
rate is around 16-18 % somewhat being stable.
Many states are reporting far
fewer cases from past week, as on 28/01/2022 about 20 lakh active cases are
recorded in the nation.
State of Kerela saw the third
wave later in comparison to rest of nation, so as of now the state is having a
steady rise in cases (50,000 cases everyday)
The cause of tension is death
rate is still rising with daily count reaching 500+. During second wave, over
4000 death cases were bring reported at peak.
