Highlights of 73^rd Republic Day 2022

The republic day of India is celebrated as a National Holiday across the nation and within hearts and mind of all proud Indians in memories of our great freedom fighters who bought the light of freedom and self-rule among Indians.

Every year the President of India presides over the republic day event and unfurls the national flag at Rajpath, New Delhi. Since 1950, the event is being organised.

This day also marks that largest democratic nation of the world – India got its first republic president in 1950 (Dr. Rajendra Prasad) and India’s constitution came into full force and effect.

73^rd Republic Day @2022

Only 12 States and Union territories were selected to present their tableau due to pandemic.

Over all 21 tableaux were displayed - 12 States and Union territories and 9 Ministries

No foreign dignitaries as chief guest was invited.

PM Modi ji wore a traditional cap from Uttarakhand along with Brahmakamal Flower (State flower of Uttarakhand) and a neck stole from Manipur.
