Cyclone Jawad
Odisha meteorological department along with Indian meteorological department has given warning for cyclone to many districts of Odisha.
As per the estimated route of low pressure area formed at South Andaman sea, it is calculated that the low pressure would convert to cyclone and progress towards coast of Odisha.
State government has asked all District Collectors and officials to be on alert in response to the cyclonic storm on December 4th, 2021. As present, 13 district of Odisha are studied to be impacted by cyclone with low to moderate rainfall and wind.
As a part of post cyclone efforts, administration has been planning with National Disaster Response Force, Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force and Fire Department. Teams are deployed at all possible spots of impact.
Special Relief Commissioner has said in an advisory that the wind speed may reach upto 45-55 km/hr and gusting speed upto 65 km/hr on 3rd December. He has also advised fishermen and local people not to go near sea.
During landfall the expected speed is to be around 80 km/hr and gusting speed of 90 km/hr.
Although it's clear that cyclone jawad will progress towards Odisha coast but yet the point of landfall is not confirmed.
Red Alert for : Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Puri.
Orange Alert for : khordha, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Koraput.
