Yellow Alert in Delhi under Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)
Due to rise in covid19 positive rate above 0.5% in past week, alert has been imposed by government. Yellow alert will call for certain restrictions (mentioned below) to be imposed to counter further spread of Covid19 and prevent social gatherings during end of year 2021.
Delhi has been reported with 496 new cases of covid19 in a single day which is 50% higher than the preceding day. Even in Mumbai new cases of 1,377 was recorded in last 24 hours.
World wide many nations and prime cities are impacted with OMICRON variant of Covid19, which may not be deadly yet but is spreading at alarming rate.
Looking at the timeline of global wave', 1st wave of covid19 was hit during june 2020 to march 2021, 2nd wave was during April to June 2021, 3rd mild wave was from August to November 2021, presently 4th wave is due to OMICRON variant is rapidly rising with positive cases and is predicted to hit like 1st wave.
Cases in Europe and China are reported with many cases of new variant. Many cities in Europe and China are already prepared for lockdown.
In UK, OMICRON is spreading at large. So the government has planned two weeks "circut-breaker lockdown" to be implemented post Christmas to prevent further damage due to pandemic.
So has the nation like France, Neitherland and Israel have also partial lockdown to stop the impact of covid19.
India has also marked OMICRON variant as serious problem and Delhi has imposed yellow alert.
Closed - school, college, gyms, spa's, theatre, banquet
Open - essential commodities shops, eCommerce
Partially open - metro, private offices, restuarants, bars
Delhi has formulated Graded Response Action Plan in a four colour coded alert system in which action will be decided based on circumstances and cases of covid19.
Level 1 - Yellow - 1,500 cases in last week
Level 2 - Amber - 3,500 cases in last week
Level 3 - Orange - 9,000 cases in last week
Level 4 - Red - 16,000 cases in last week
The rising cases of covid19 is a cause of concern for whole world, every other nation has restricted the flights and incoming traveller's.
Yet, the cases are rising. So, we all need to follow the guidelines and rules made by the government to stop the spread of covid19 virus and save human life.
