After successful sale of loss making airline Air India, Government of India has also agreed to sale of Central Electronics LTD (CEL) which was a government owned engineering company in the manufacturing of photovoltaic cells.
Now, the government is about the close the deals of privatisation for Bharat Earth Movers Ltd, Neelanchal Ispat, Pawan Hans and Shipping Corporation of India. As stated by officials DIPAM (Department of Investment & Public Assets Management) is working on many prospective proposals and transactions to close the deals.
Even the banks like Central Bank of Inda and Indian Overseas are opted for privatisation but for that government needs to have legislative changes in the parliament which is waiting.
Whereas many other companies and banks are in queue for turn of privatisation like BPCL, IDBI bank and many more.
