Jaga Mission - Govt of Odisha Scheme 

The Jaga Mission is a unique initiative by the Government of Odisha, aimed at providing land rights and secure housing to slum dwellers in the state. The mission has also won World Habitat Award 2023 from UN - Habitat

The Jaga Mission was launched in 2018 by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, with the aim of providing land rights and secure housing to all slum dwellers in the state. Under the mission, the state government provides land rights to slum dwellers who have been living in their homes for more than five years.

The mission has been a huge success, with more than 1.8 lakh slum dwellers receiving land rights and secure housing in just two years. The state government has also set up a dedicated Jaga Mission cell to oversee the implementation of the mission and ensure that slum dwellers receive their rightful land rights and secure housing.


The Jaga Mission has not only provided land rights and secure housing to slum dwellers but has also brought about a sense of dignity and empowerment among them.
